Welcome to Parmar Dental

At Parmar dental we take great pride in the treatment of nervous patients. Nervous patients come in all guises. Some cannot walk through the door into our dental office, others try to act calm and pretend they are okay whilst their heart rate goes up and their muscles tense up! There are number of ways in which we help nervous patients to overcome their fears. The following questions are those most commonly asked by our patients:

I had a bad experience as a child and it has put me off coming, what can you do to help?

Dental training and techniques have come along way over the last few years. Dental treatment is no longer a painful experience as it was 10 years ago. With new equipment, new medication and gentle techniques, you should be pleasantly surprised when you visit us.

Can I be “knocked out” for dental treatment?

General anaesthesia is not used for routine dental treatment anymore. However, at Parmar Dental we are trained in the administration of an IV drug which relaxes and calms you allowing you to undergo dental treatment in the practice. This drug also has the added benefit of causing some mild anaesthesia which means you may not even remember having the treatment carried out! Almost all of our nervous patients who opt to have their treatment in this fashion manage very well.

I haven't been to the dentist for a long time, I’m concerned that I will need a lot of treatment.

Obviously, if you haven't been for some time, there is a possibility that there will be a lot of treatment required. However, once this is done and you stick to a good oral hygiene regime you may be surprised at how little treatment you need.
